Between work and school, we like to go on hikes (Prairie Creek!), jog, watch movies (especially classic/culturally relevant films that neither of us have seen before), and have been trying to do at least one new thing each week. Last week it was quick pickles!

Registry:
Since we've been together for so long, we have most of the household items that you'd normally ask for on a gift registry. In lieu of that, we've created a registry for our honeymoon to Kauai, Hawaii!
We understand that that type of thing isn't for everyone, though, so we did choose a few items over at Amazon, too. :)

Coinage
Kai and I started collecting the US state quarters in late 2006, and I of course saved some yen from my trip to Japan in 2007... but it wasn't until mid-2008 when I became a cashier that the real "collection" (ie. mostly unorganized pile) started to take shape. Here are some of my favorites~
Canadian cents!! Including one old enough to have George VI on it, and (super awesomely) a commemorative centennial minting!! (Elizabeth II is on the other side)
While on the topic of Canadian coins, here are special 2010 commemorative Olympics 25 cent pieces!! And one for Breast Cancer Awareness with a COLOR INLAY. Given to me by a Canadian friend. <3
5 and 50 yen coins have a hole in the center, which is neat.
A collection of 20 Euro coins, each with a different illustration to represent a country. There are so many more of these than I have. XD
The tiniest coin I've ever seen! 1 Thai baht. Stupidly miniscule. XD
And the most worthless coin I've ever seen. I had always made fun of the Japanese yen (pictured left), due to its material (aluminum, floats on water), until I stumbled upon this little guy. Not sure what country, though the writing's in Chinese... but it's even smaller than the yen, and still made of aluminum. Amazing.
Multi-colored inlays!! Very cool.
Every wonder why the British currency is called the "pound"? Maybe it's because the 1 pound coin weighs a friggin' ton. This is a seriously beefy coin. Look at how thick it is!!
These are the non-circular coins. Look at those 7-sided coins! What the heck is up with that??? O_O
And these are some that I just like for the images/symbols/the fact that one is listed as a fraction of an amount of money. XD
